Greetings! Life in the mountains is bliss! This is the essence of the LOVE BASKET story. It is intended to promote the appreciation and respect of diverse cultures and inculcate value formation through the sharing of books. This STORYBOOK PROJECT FOR A CAUSE responds to the global campaign on Basic Education for All! It supports advocacies on environment, health, culture and art. The proceeds would finance the ongoing development, production, publication, and distribution of resource materials. ~Support the Story Book for a Cause ♥ Sponsor books as gifts to inspire and strengthen the appreciation of reading and writing. THE TWO HUTS OF COMPASSION: ONE NAMED SAGADA AND THE OTHER IFUGAO

Click the photo and read the creative picture story of two huts with quaint gardens on both roofs ♥ “These two traditional houses were donated in 1984 by Mr. Wilson Capuyan (MANCOM member) and lawyer Zosimo Paredes (Brent parent) to commemorate the Jubilee year of Brent School, Baguio. The houses in their original form were transported plank by plank straight from Sagada, Mountain and from Ifugao. They were reassembled at the Cordillera Hill under the scrutiny of Sagada and Ifugao elders. These huts are currently used by the students for studies in Art, Music, Social, Studies, Math, and Philippine Cultural Studies.” "

Oblivious of the rain and my presence, an Ifugao mother and her child sat comfortably together. In their stillness, I felt like I broke through a painting or a photograph taken back in time. I gazed in awe where they were focused. Overlooking the viewpoint of Batad is an amphitheatre with a scene playing out the drone of the simplicities of life. The mix of traditional culture and the onslaught of modernity were sharply visible. I basked in wonder with the milieu of picturesque mix of people and races brought in by tourism… - All here to experience life in the rice terraces. And yeah, I was here!
