Body, Soul, and Spirit

Baguio City 05.06.2000 Dying is the unleashing of the spirit. Only God has the right to take life as He was the one who gave it. The spirit must go back to Him pure. The spirit is powerful. It is free, it is boundless. When it is born with man, however, it is imprisoned by the body. It is tamed by the limitations of the physical being. The body is a cell. It is a cocoon for the spirit. The chrysalis break (and that is death), and it releases the soul and the spirit. Hence, the spirit must be hatched at the right time. Man must not take life. Evil must not take life. Only God. Capital punishment does not serve its purpose. It may only perpetuate evil. Evil could not be stopped by death. It only destroys the cell, the cocoon, but the unhatched egg or spirit lives on. It would soon find another cell. The stained spirit struggles to accomplish something so it lives on the incomplete life it dwelt on. Hence, when it dies in sin, it would live on in sin. With the Grace of God, it will...

MANKAYAN 2009

My coffee moment... End of January 2009, I decided to travel with my siblings to Mankayan to give our last respects for auntie Jane, someone who had been to us a consistent caring mother-figure in that old hometown even after we left the place for years. The travel to Mankayan is a journey back in time. It's centered mostly on our store-resto named Mankayan Cafe, full with childhood and growing up memries. Hitting the Halsema highway set the time backwards. This was punctuated by the intermittent smell of chicken dung, as we tried to overtake trucks and trucks of fertilizer backloads! Made my temple throb. The smell was like that pesky fly that would not go away. It was a chilly January. The cemented Mt Trail was no longer that boring, compared to the rugged, bumpy road way back then. I was on the middle seat, no choice, as I wasn't able to beat Ming to the window, and of course, I couldn't argue with Dammi to give up her side. Nways, it was a smooth ride, of course, sans...

BIRTHDAY & NEW YEAR 2009 CELEBS

Dec 31, 2008 was Richard's birthday. We had a bonfire. I prepared something for dinner: seafood and veggie kare-kare, dinuguan, chicken curry, and what else? We were not expecting many guests as we had been quite tired with all the occassions that had been happening the whole month of December. We called those at the Cameron Forbes Hall. Also those who were still in campus. We invited all the guards on duty to come for dinner. Above pic: Lani, Bob, Weng. I took pictures after Tes said that she's getting no orbs in her camera. She said that her goal for that night was to hunt for those as she had been hearing about. Well, you could see them right there (seemed to be lingering near Lani). Is it my camera? Bob's camera also got them before but it was my kids who shot them. Bob said he checked those again in his camera after and they're gone. Maybe just missed em.. Tes The night was still. No wind stirred the environs, but a silhouette of a lone leaf...
