Zinnia

The flower heads bobbed up and down with the rhythm of the falling rain. 


The droplets carefully sluiced through the petal folds.

They breathed with the rain that brought freshness in their system.


The colors lost some of their luster as their papery texture got soggy.


But they stayed calm and beautiful.


I watched the flowers got drenched.


They weathered the storm.


And so do we.
